Analysis of a Human Services Agency

It is worth 100 points.

Select a human services agency in your area or online that provides various services to the community. Gather information about this agency by interviewing a human services professional, or if you choose to select an agency online, research the website and answer the following questions.

1) What is the name of the agency?
2) Where is the agency located? If online, provide the website.
3) Does the agency have a policy and practices statement (a written statement that explains the functions of the agency and the roles of the staff)?
4) Who are the clients of this agency?
5) What types of services does this agency offer? Provide at least three and explain the service.
6) Do they offer counseling (for example, individual, group, family)? If yes, what type?

At Olivia’s House, the women are able to get treatment while caring for their children in the same facility. After completion of this long-term alcohol and substance abuse treatment center, those qualified can receive housing assistance, as well. Extensive case management services are provided to help women acknowledge, cope and resolve some of the issues surrounded around their active drug use. The women are expected to participate in individual and group therapy sessions to help them gain a better perspective on the importance of abstaining from drugs and alcohol usage. Dammann, Smith, and Richards (2011) presented material to show how low-income minorities and homeless mother’s perceptions of their 9-13 year-old children’s weight status, diet, and health.
