...denied them. He knew he was severely under supplied; his death could have been avoided if he was open-minded. Towards the beginning Chris’ trip, you will notice his stubbornness; “Gallien asked whether he had a hunting license. Chris replied with hell, no. How I feed myself is none of the governments business. F*ck their stupid rule.” (page 6). He was an obvious risk taker, gaining strength from each goal he set for himself. But he became too confident that he started making several mistakes when things started going down the hill. Each mistake ate away at his overconfidence, leading to his ultimate demise. As young people, we feel that death is something that is far off, and we find that with each risk, we take that we survive and that makes us stronger. Chris was no exception and this was the way he went about doing it, only that he did not live to tell the tale....

...What is PepsiCo’s corporate strategy? Briefly identify the business strategies that PepsiCo is using in each of its consumer business segments in 2008. PepsiCo’s corporate strategy had diversified, in 2008, the company into salty and sweet snacks, soft drinks, orange juice, bottled water, and ready-to-eat drink teas and coffees, purified and functional waters, isotonic beverages, hot and ready-to-eat breakfast cereals, grain-based products, and breakfast condiments. Strategies that kept their brands at the top were tied to new product innovation, close relationships with distribution allies, international expansion, and strategic acquisitions. A new element of PepsiCo’s corporate strategy was product reformulations to make snack foods and beverages less unhealthy. Their belief that its efforts to develop “good-for-you” or “better-for-you” products would create growth opportunities from the intersection of business and public interests. The company was organized into four business divisions which all followed the corporation’s general strategic approach. Frito-Lay North America manufactured, marketed, and distributed such snack foods as Lay potato chips, Doritos tortilla chips, Cheetos cheese snacks, Fritos corn chips, Quaker Chewy granola bars, Grandma’s cookies, and Smartfood popcorn. The PepsiCo Beverages North America beverage manufactured, marketed, and sold beverage concentrates, fountain syrups, and finished goods under such brands as Pepsi, Gatorade,......

The Story behind Pancake Theory (The Collapse of WTC) On September 11, 2001, the twin towers of the World Trade Center (WTC) collapsed due to a terrorists’ attack affiliated with al-Qaeda. It hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners and flying one into the North Tower and another into the South Tower. The major events include the following: * The airplane impact with damage to the columns. * The ensuing fire with loss of steel strength and distortion. * The collapse, which generally occurred inward without significant tipping. Some features that lead to the analysis of the collapse. * The towers fell faster than they could have if they were crushing themselves. * The volume of dust was too great to have been the product of a gravity-driven collapse. * The South Tower's top shattered before falling, and so its breakup was not a result of gravity-driven......

...is also down significantly to $-1.40 billion from $1.07 billion in the twelve months ended a year ago. The company's liquidity is not only remarkable but the current amount of debt it carries relative to the cash flow it generates from tis operations is even lower now than it was a year ago. Its net debt (total debt minus cash on hand) at the end of its last quarter was $345.10 million, a fraction of its $989.60 million in EBITDA. This ratio fell by an impressive 114.42% from the year earlier period, when EBITDA was $789.80 million. This situation affords the company many attractive options such as pursuing acquisitions without incurring much debt or rewarding shareholders through dividends or the repurchase of common shares, which would make future earnings more valuable. Despite this reduction in net debt, the company's total debt as a percentage of total capital actually increased over the same twelve month period, while its cash on hand fell. In its last quarter total debt accounted for 29.53% of total capital compared to 9.61% in the year earlier quarter while cash on hand fell from $2.46 billion to $1.70 billion, a 30.77% drop. This suggests Starbucks Corporation has been using its cash reserves to pursue strategic purposes such as aquisitions or share repurshases rather than debt reduction, which isn't necessarily a bad option as long as such moves contribute to future growth instead of constraining the company's liquidity....

Malunggay as Pancakes

...Related Literature and Studies A. Related Literature Pancakes are ancient food. The word pancakes appears in print as early as 1430. Pancakes may have been around since Neolithic humans domesticated einkorn wheat, ground it into flour mixed with bird’s egg and goat’s milk and poured the batter on a heated rock. It happened before there were pans and long before ovens. The ancient cooks dropped a little gruel on a hot rock of campfire, resulting in thin cakes that were tastier than plain gruel or cakes cooked directly in the embers of the fire. Perhaps because of this ancient lineage, pancakes are associated with rituals in many countries – Shrove Tuesday, Candlemas, and Chanukah to name a few. From these rudimentary beginnings sprang a vast array of bread and pancakes, but the two were originally the same. The ancient Greeks used griddles to cook a flat loaf drizzled with honey called ‘kreion’ and cakes of soft cheese. The Romans as revealed in the cookbook by Apicius made dishes similar to modern pancakes. Medieval pancakes, frequently made form barley or rye and lacking leavening, were relatively heavy affairs. They were quite different from contemporary fluffy or tender versions. Pancake Day is another name for Shrive Tuesday, from the custom of eating pancakes on this day, still generally observed. Shrive is an old Saxon word, of which shrove is a corruption and signifies confession. The custom of dining on pancakes on Shrove Tuesday is Roman Catholic origin......

...Importance of Market Research Market Research is the sole bloodline of directing the company to make the right decision when it comes to expanding or releasing a new product. By allowing the market research department to dictate what needs to be done about knowing what exactly the public wants and likes, the company or organization will eliminate any room for error. In this day and age, most companies and organizations do not have any room to make any unnecessary mistakes. By making these unnecessary mistakes, the company and their business could be damaged for the long term. For example, Workout Anytime is a fitness facility who allows their business to dictate what is necessary to continue and expand business. The clients and members are the business of Workout Anytime and they are the ones whose feedback matters most for the business. The health and fitness industry is ever changing and would need constant feedback from their existing members, the general public and the targeted markets to continue being relevant to the consumers. This is exactly what Workout Anytime wants to accomplish with their targeted markets and will continue to do so to reach higher revenue for years to come. If Workout Anytime did not have a marketing research department, the business would not be working as efficiently as it possibly could. Workout Anytime would constantly be guessing what exactly would make their business stand out aside from all the other competition and appeal towards their......

...where they got attacked or hated on because they were black I feel like this was a very good teaching movie to show how hard it was to be African American back then, and the fact that it was nonfiction made it even better because you know that this really happened to these people and that they really had to have the daily struggles that they had in the movie. Also with it being nonfiction you really get excited about them winning and you really start pulling for them and hoping they win which draws you in more and more in to the movie. Also another great part about the movie was how relatable the character of James is I think that many young people watching this movie including myself can really relate to his struggles he faced like trying to make his parents happy or problems with a girl, since he is so relatable you really feel for him and what he is going through in the movie, because if this you get pulled in even more to the movie. 6...

Pancakes and Syrup

...Pancakes & Syrup Facts Maple Corporation is a manufacturer of breakfast products.  Maple sells its products to wholesale distributors and directly to large retail chains.  Maple's Real Maple brand table syrup is very popular due to its high content of real maple syrup.  To boost sales of its pancake batter mix, Maple Corporation conditions the sale of its table syrup on the buyer's agreement to buy Maple's pancake mix. To get its customers to cooperate with this arrangement, Maple gives an extra 5% trade discount for each syrup/mix transaction.  The pancake batter mix is not as popular as the syrup, causing retailers to experience oversupplies of mix.  To induce customers to buy the oversupply, retailers are having to offer deep discounts on the mix. Legal Reasoning: What type of arrangement is this?  What law applies?  What are the elements of the law?   Is the Maple Corporation arrangement legal in your opinion?  Why? This is an example of a Tying Arrangement – an agreement between a buyer and a seller under which the buyer of a specific product or service is obligated to purchase additional products or services from the seller. The antitrust law applies in this situation, due to the fact that the law restricts business practices that are considered to be monopolistic or which restrain interstate commerce. This law consists of two acts – the Sherman Act, and the Clayton Act. The Sherman Act declares illegal every contract, combination or conspiracy in restraint...

... the essay will pursue the relationships between the grandmother, the misfit, and the son, John Wesley and his Mother and their last minute, virtuous moments right before Gods jurisdiction is handed upon them. John Wesley realizes that his actions anytime before that moment were inexcusable towards his mother, but now it is too late as he is murdered in the woods and the grandmother’s having her salvation just before the Misfit eradicates her as well. Annotated Bibliography Yao, Tianyuan Ben. "A Test of Faith: Analysis on “A Good Man is Hard to Find”." A Journal of Academic Writing (2013): 10. Yao explores, summarizes, and annotates the relationships between the Grandmother and the Roman Catholic Faith. She identifies that the grandmother puts herself and her life before that of anyone else’s which directly contradicts Christian beliefs. The grandmother continuously shows her lack of true Christian faith as she attempts to use God to save her life and as soon as she realizes it is not working she reverts to bribing the misfit. “The grandmother is also shown to care more for her life than her family’s wellbeing. Instead of speaking up for her young grandchildren, she begs to The Misfit, “You wouldn't shoot a lady, would you?” (587). Her concern for her family seems to diminish at this critical point. These traits are far from Christian teachings (see Isaiah 1:17, Psalm 82:3, John 15:13). In the desperation of begging for her life, the grandmother even uses God. The......

...seminary Richard Bauckham’s Jesus and the Eyewitnesses: The Gospels as Eyewitness Testimony (Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 2006) makes a persuasive argument that the Gospels display eyewitness testimony and thus renews the quest for the identity of the Beloved Disciple as the author of the Fourth Gospel. While Bauckham attributes this Gospel to “the presbyter John” mentioned by Papias, the authors of this study show that the patristic evidence more likely seems to support the authorship of John the apostle and that the literary device of inclusio in the Fourth Gospel, astutely observed by Bauckham, also favors the authorship of John the son of Zebedee. Key Words: Fourth Gospel, Beloved Disciple, John, authorship, apostle, Zebedee, John the Elder, Papias, Eusebius, Muratorian Fragment, Polycrates, Irenaeus, Bauckham Introduction Recent years have witnessed a significant number of publications on the identity of “the disciple Jesus loved” in John’s Gospel. The ever more daring proposals have included identifications of this figure as diverse as the apostle Thomas, Mary Magdalene, Lazarus, James the son of Zebedee, and even the Samaritan woman, among others. 1 Most recently, Richard Bauckham has weighed in on this debate in his landmark volume Jesus and the 1. Note: These were words I took from the company’s own job description. Always a good idea to subtly mirror their language back to them. 1st point: Fun, shows some personality without coming across as too weird. 2nd: Shows serious experience in important marketing areas: Managing campaigns, creating systems, strategic + tactical implementation, organizing events — the hiring manager is checking off boxes in his head now. 3rd: Shows serious interest in the subject beyond it being “just a job.” Hiring managers care that you care, because everybody else is applying just because it “sounded good.” Dear Hiring Manager: I’m thrilled to apply for the Marketing Manager position at Acme. ...          John the Baptist Prepares the Way 1 ( what good news?)The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, 2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way” 3 “a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”(is this the good news?, what does it mean by sending a messenger is it john?) 4 And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. (was john a chosen one to baptize people by god?) 5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Where was this located? Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. 6 John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. 7 And this was his message (why does it matter what john wore?) when Jesus was baptizing did john baptized to at the same time?  “After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. 8 I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”(after him comes someone more porwerful? Does that mean that he is considering himself someone powerful also? What does it mean by baptizing with the holy spirit? Baptized with the spirit of god? (NIV)   ...
