My beloved brothers and sisters, I extend my love and greetings to each of you and pray that our Heavenly Father will guide my thoughts and inspire my words as I speak to you today.
May I begin by making a comment or two concerning the fine messages we have heard this morning from Sister Allred and Bishop Burton and others pertaining to the Church’s welfare program. As indicated, this year marks the 75th anniversary of this inspired program, which has blessed the lives of so many. It was my privilege to know personally some of those who pioneered this great endeavor—men of compassion and foresight.
As both Bishop Burton and Sister Allred and others mentioned, the bishop of the ward is given the responsibility to care for those in need who reside within the boundaries of his ward. Such was my privilege when I presided as a very young bishop in Salt Lake City over a ward of 1,080 members, including 84 widows. There were many who needed assistance. How grateful I was for the welfare program of the Church and for the help of the Relief Society and the priesthood quorums.
I declare that the welfare program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is inspired of Almighty God.
Now, my brothers and sisters, this conference marks three years since I was sustained as President of the Church. Of course they have been busy years, filled with many challenges but also with countless blessings. The opportunity I have had to dedicate and rededicate temples has been among the most enjoyable and sacred of these blessings, and it is concerning the temple that I wish to speak to you today.
During the October general conference in 1902, Church President Joseph F. Smith expressed in his opening address the hope that one day we would “have temples built in the various parts of the [world] where they are needed for the convenience of the people.”1
During the first 150 years…...

Microsoft Office Marketing Strategy

...In April 2009, Kristena Louie, program manager for Microsoft Office, must develop a marketing strategy to better reach and engage the college student market. In contrast to Facebook and Google, which excite and engage students successfully, Microsoft is regarded as lacking innovation, aging, and playing a limited role in students’ lives (p.2, Case A). To understand and overcome such negative perceptions, Louie hires a team of expert to study the mindset and technology preferences of students. With the goal of successfully competing in the college students market, Louie must improve Microsoft’s value proposition through establishing short and long-term milestones with the insights of the market research. In the short run, Microsoft should improve its advertisement strategy and cater to the needs of college students by forming partnerships with universities and campus clubs, re-positioning itself toward the innovative spectrum (Ex. A). Besides, an academic search engine specifically tailored for college students should be constructed (Ex. B). This service distinguishes itself with the specificity of materials it offers. Furthermore, Microsoft should incorporate users’ feedback into its design and layout while educating users about the novel features. In the long run, we should supplement Hotmail with social and productivity features that resemble Gchat and Google Drive. Lastly, we recommend the development of a social network, as well as a mobile app in order to appeal...

Recommendation for Microsoft Office 2003 Upgrade.

...To: Eric Smith From: Nick JB Date: November 8, 2013 Re: Recommendation for Microsoft Office 2003 Upgrade. Introduction The purpose of the report is to recommend which of the available office suites should be obtained to upgrade the obsolete version of Microsoft Office 2003. Microsoft Office 2003, which we use now, has become obsolete and is no longer able to satisfy our daily office needs. Mainstream support for Office 2003 ended April 14, 2009, and extended support will end April 8, 2014. The claims are based upon such drawbacks as: incompatibility with the newer file extensions widely used by our partners and clients, outdated templates and tools, Outlook’s search issues, etc. All these factors not only cause frustration, but negatively affect the company’s image as well. Several potential solutions were examined and the choice was narrowed to two office suites: Microsoft Office 2013 and LibreOffice 4. Each solution has been evaluated according to the criteria below, from most important to least important: 1. Cost. 2. Functionality. 3. Interface and compatibility. 4. Technical support. Scope The most important factor when choosing between the possible solutions is their cost. The suite we choose must be able to fulfill our office’s daily needs and even more, to ensure its usability years ahead. Thus, functionality is the second factor. The third factor is interface and compatibility because the new applications must be user-friendly, with......

Microsoft Office User Manual Critique

...Critique of Microsoft Word User Manual The key to beginning anything is a good introduction, be it a book, an essay, and editorial, and yes, even a user manual. I especially enjoyed the Introduction to the user manual for Microsoft Word 2007. It begins with an introduction to the authors that contributed to the user manual, telling us about their fields of expertise and experience in technical writing. Such an introduction assures the reader that what they are about to read comes from those that have much experience in the area and that the user manual will be as informative as they hope to expect. It then goes on to describe what is new in Microsoft Word 2007, at first glance you can already tell that Word 2007 is more aesthetically pleasing, but this section goes beyond the obvious make over to describe new and different features from previous versions of MS Word which helps the end user learn what to expect and what to watch out for if they encounter a feature that is unfamiliar to them.. The experience of the author’s technical writing skills really shows. Everything is clear and concise. Even the most basic of beginners should have no troubles learning the software through this user manual, they keep things simple without using sentences that run on and on. However, I searched high and low looking for anything that would help to describe what certain terminologies such as “footnote” or “bullets” mean. The manual is pretty extensive so I may have just overlooked it....

...Marketing Strategy : Marketing is a very unique set of doings which shows a great and valuable impact on the entire organization. The marketers and experts of these fields have developed three prospective of this after a deep sea research. This environment influences the organization directly. Caster guitar is a big name in the field of transporting the guitars worldwide .A company cannot sell its all products to a single customer or at a same market. The customers are many and they all are diverse according to their demand and buying requirements. This is why, each company needs to identify its market segmentation, market segmentation procedure, pattern of segmentation, basis of segmenting consumers and business market. Many companies use to be target oriented and they develop a target-marketing. They first identify their segments, and then set targets for each segment. After this, they manufacture their products according to their targeted market . Target marketing requires marketers to take three major steps: Identify and profile distinct groups of buyers who might require separate products or market mixes which is known as “market segmentation.”Select one or more market segments to enter which is known as “market targeting.”Establish and communicate the product’s key distinctive benefits in the market which is known as “market positioning.”In my research, I have taken Toyota at my company to apply all the Maktering Principles and to know about the market segmentation,......

Microsoft Office Is an Office Suite

Initially a marketing term for a bundled set of applications, the first version of Office contained Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. MICROSOFT WORD Microsoft Word is a word processor and was previously considered to be the main program in Office. The first version of Word, released in the autumn of 1983, was for the MSDOS operating system and had the distinction of introducing the mouse to a broad population. Word 1.0 could be purchased with a bundled mouse, though none was required. Word has a built-in spell checker, thesaurus, dictionary, Office Assistant (a feature to assist users by way of an interactive animated character) and utilities for transferring, copy, pasting and editing text, such as PureText (a small utility that allows users to paste the contents of the software as plain text). "Normal.dot" is the master template from which all Word documents are created. It is one of the most important files in Microsoft Word. It determines the margin defaults as well as the layout of the text and font defaults. Although normal.dot......

Microsoft Office for Teachers

...Simple, cute, friendly, kind and shy. That’s how they describe me. Moreover, I guess it is true. I am Roimee Jocuya Pedong, 16 years old, a first year B I am just a simple girl who grew up with a fear to our Lords, to always help others in need and grew up bearing in mind the value of education in one’s life. I was baptized at Rosario Mission center at December 26, 1998. I was baptized by Rev. Fr. Agustin Balanquit with other children. I was four years old when I entered school. I was in day care 1 that time. Being a day care student was not a very good memory for me. I was the only student who always gets the lowest score in quizzes, activities and exams. Because of that, my classmates used to laugh at me. I remember, during our graduation, I had a memorized poem; I let mama hold the microphone I delivered my poem because I was too shy to deliver my poem in front of everyone. Everything turned upside dowen when I entered day care III. I was the one who always top the exams. And, when I delivered my poem, I did not let mama hold the microphone anymore. I was six years old when I entered Elementary School. Since grade one, I was always on the section one and top ten student. I graduated elementary on 2010 as the third honorable mention. During my childhood days, I was playful yet very shy. I don’t really go out of our house, though I really want to play. Way back, my papa was very strict, but we know that it is also for our own good. I studied high school at Saint Michael......

Installing Microsoft Office Site

...My experience installing the Microsoft software was a little challenging, when I first purchased my new computer. I purchased all of the newest versions of Windows 8. According to Strayer University requirements I needed Windows 7 or better but with the new computers I was not able to purchase the older version because my computer would have to be downgraded in order to do so. Using the disc provided I downloaded the applications and installed to my computer. Once downloaded I moved the components to my desktop. Each component was launched and an icon appeared for each component onto my desktop. The components which were installed are as follows: Access 2013, Power Point 2013, Excel 2013, Publisher 2013, One Note 2013, Outlook 2013 and Word 2013. In addition, I did not have any issues installing the software, however my concern was the amount of storage I have on my new computer. I predict the least difficult Microsoft Office component that I feel will be the least difficult to learn would be Word 2013, because I have been using it for a few months and I also use it daily for work. Using it daily for work allows me to learn more about what the new program can do. Although it does more than 2010 it keeps me up to date with the newest version. I predict the most difficult Microsoft Office component will be Power Point 2013 and Excel 2013, because I have not worked with the software at all and I am eager to learn the Power Point and Excel. I feel it will be a little......
