Introduction to Psychology
Introduction to Sociology
Introduction to Philosophy

I believe the listed above courses cover a broad range of topics directly related to diversity. Psychology studies personality and perceptual mechanisms that influence behavior. Sociology provides an understanding of human social interaction, social groups, social structures, culture, and social inequality. With philosophy, areas such as morality, free will, and the meaning of life are explored.

Interaction with other groups will occur throughout life whether it be a job, school, neighbors, social events, asking for directions. A strong and diverse knowledge has always been important to understand why someone may hold a specific view on a topic or to engage a conversation with someone you may not have otherwise socialized with. Since learning is continuous, it is always best to have a foundation of understanding that can help break through the inevitable communication barriers in the future.

The awards are based on meeting or exceeding quality, on-time delivery, post-delivery support and affordability goals, and demonstrating the ability to anticipate and respond to changing requirements. "These supplier-partners performed exceptionally last year—in ways that differentiated them," said Jim McNerney, Boeing chairman and chief executive officer. "They helped us provide our customers with more capability for less cost in today's dynamic environment. Module 4 Discussion 1 Ant 3300

...Name Tutor Course Date Module 4 Discussion 1 ANT 3300 Most Indian Americans are culturally aloof and this aloofness has had devastating effects on their overall health and social status. Because of their historic conflicts with European settlers who colonized the continent, decimated their population and drove them away from their lands, American Indians had frosty relations with the federal government. These frosty relations necessitated the formation of treaties with the federal government to protect their interest but the group still largely remains aloof and disconnected from the mainstream population. As a result of this disconnection from the mainstream population and the general cultural reluctance to freely integrate or mingle with the outside society, American Indians currently constitute the most impoverished minority group in the United States. More than 25 percent of American Indians currently live in poverty; comparatively, only 8 percent of white Americans live in poverty. A review of the over 500 American Indian tribes that are federally recognized by the government confirms that this minority group is more likely to suffer from health complications such as obesity, diabetes, alcoholism, and other mental health complications than other racial minority groups such as African Americans and Asian Americans. The Indian Health Service was formed to take care of this group’s health care, particularly for members of the group living in reservations, but it......

What did they do well as a group? I think they did everything well as a group. They all came together, met one another, and got right down to business. I liked how they all respected one......

...“Mary Jane Martin, CEO of Fox Meadow Assisted Living Facility, is concerned about the facility’s occupancy rate. At one time, the facility enjoyed a dominant position in the area, but its occupancy rate has declined from 90 percent to 70 percent in three years. This erosion is at the hands of other local competitors. Their key market is the baby boomers. The baby boomers are those individuals born during the post–World War II euphoria of 1946 to 1964. The aging of this group has created numerous opportunities for assisted living marketers. The segment numbers almost 80 million Americans and accounts for close to 30 percent of the US population. Mary Jane has directed Tomas Rodriguez, her marketing director, to institute a promotional campaign directed specifically toward this segment. Tomas’s advertising objective was to increase requests for information about the facility by 30 percent in three months by using meaningful, believable, and distinctive print advertisements. The execution style for the message was to take a “slice of life” approach. With a promotional print budget of $8,000, Tomas ran a half-page ad in the local weekly free newspaper in four communities surrounding the facility. The ad provided contact information about the facility and pictured a 75-year-old grandmother type sitting in a comfortable rocking chair, doing needlepoint in front of a wood-burning fireplace. The caption read, “Rest and relax, your time has come!” Following multiple iterations...

Module 3 Discussion

...Module 3 Discussion An income statement is a summary of revenues and expenses and gains and losses, ending with net income for a specific period of time. Indicate the two traditional formats for presenting the income statement. Which of these formats is preferable for analysis? Why? When you respond to this discussion question, I expect to see a brief discussion on the importance of the income statement.  After which, you need to respond to the other requirements completely. The income statement of any company is often considered the most important reporting tool. The income statement shows revenues, expenses, gains, and losses. It gives the users of financial information a snap shot view, at any specific point in time, the profitability of the company. If the net amount of revenues and gains minus expenses and losses is positive, the bottom line of the profit and loss statement is labeled as net income. If the net amount (or bottom line) is negative, there is a net loss. According to Averkamp in an article in Accounting Coach, he states that, “People pay attention to the profitability of a company for many reasons. For example, if a company was not able to operate profitably—the bottom line of the income statement indicates a net loss—a banker/lender/creditor may be hesitant to extend additional credit to the company. On the other hand, a company that has operated profitably—the bottom line of the income statement indicates a net income—demonstrated its ability to...

Week Three Discussion

...Week Three discussion questions 1. Project scheduling follows one of Parkinson’s laws: “Everything takes as long as it takes.” The topic for discussion is what are the elements and functions we must consider when developing the project schedule? In your experience what tools and techniques have you seen used effectively? As a contributor to inaccurate duration estimates is a situation known as Parkinson’s law. He further described “work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion”. This means that if we estimated an activity will take two weeks, it’ll end up taking two weeks even if it could have been finished in one. Tools and techniques that project managers can take to overcome Parkinson’s Law. Determine priorities, give more time to top priorities, use reliable estimating techniques, take frequent measurements on performance, and maintain visibility of those measurements. Ralph Kliem and Irwin Ludain, Tools and tips for Today’s Project Manager 2. What is your experience with sensitivity ("what if") analysis? While many organizations do not perform a formal analysis, most try at least to identify critical factors, and how the project will be affected if these change from the estimate. Share your experience with the class. When doing a sensitivity analysis, what factors that could be variables, and which could be constants? According to the PMBOK 4TH edition, a sensitivity analysis helps to determine which risk have the potential impact...
