...optic in case of intubation. The financial manager department was not in any way willing to pay the money by giving me excuses such as he wants to buy the latest version of the fiber optic model which will take several weeks to arrive to LEBANON, or that 5000 $ can be used to purchase other equipments for other medical departments at the hospital. After few days, Mr. Khoury’s health continued to deteriorate and on October 15 at 13:20 the ICU called me to resuscitate Mr. Khoury after going through respiratory arrest, arriving to the ICU, I could not intubate Mr. Khoury due to his difficult airway knowing that I could’ve solved this dilemma if I had the fiber optic equipment, so Mr. Khoury passed away on October 15 at 13:35 sharp. His wife was crying and chocked even though she had prepared herself emotionally to the idea of her husband’s death. Very furious, I went to the financial department manager and held him responsible for Mr. Khoury’s death and threatened him of legal complaints. At this point, the financial department manager also started shouting and arguing with me. So, I left his office and went to try to calm down Mr. Khoury’s wife who was still in denial regarding her husband’s death; this situation leads to a patient safety issue. In the graph above, I am presenting an overall model of patient safety that we have in the hospital, so I faced the financial department manager with this study but I did not had any positive reaction from him. Ob and Management

...Hence, it is important for the management to value Organization Behavior (OB) highly and continue to practice scientifically established methods. Organization behavior principles help the management to effectively manage the human behavior to be successful in the paradigm-shifting business environment of 21st century. There is growing research evidence that employees’ psychological capital is positively related to their performance and desired attitudes. Investing in this human capital results in desired performance outcomes such as increased productivity and customer satisfaction (Luthans, pp. 6). The current work-force is increasingly mobile, spread over globally, culturally diverse and a heterogenous mix of computer literacy. It is evident that such a work-force has created great challenges to the management in performance management, sustaining the intellectual capital and minimizing associated expenses. Monetary incentives alone are not effective in the current environment. Businesses can no longer offer or sustain job security to employees. Hence, in order to keep the employee morale high, it order to sustain reasonably good performance from its human social capital, the management needs to invest in organization behavior and its principles. Understanding, predicting, and management of human behavior helps the organization find the right fit talent and continue to nurture it for the mutual benefit. OB draws from many theoretical frameworks of the behavioral......

...Organizational Behaviour Individual case, assignment 1: Defining a Challenge What is the challenge or problem you are facing or want to study that is related to OB, management or leadership? I’m founder of a little firm based in Italy, after 6 years, started from scratch, I have 4 employees and they work from Vicenza, my city, where the firm is based. We did 500K in sales in 2015. The problem I’m facing is that I’m far from the firm and my employees know it, I need to motivate and empower them in order to leverage the quality and the efficiency of the workflow. I need to be able to rely on them because I can’t be present every day and they are the biggest part of the firm, I’m 1 person and they are 4 (they could be more within the end of the year) Why is this important to organizations? It’s important because every organization, for definition, it’s composed by more than one person, and there isn’t enough time to do all of the task on your own. That’s means that you are forced to delegate to others. The problem is that without the right commitment and power of the people of your firm, it’s almost impossible to succeed in the competitive arena. Identify the other stakeholders involved in this challenging situation. In order to do so I need to interact with my employees and most in general with all of the company’s stakeholders, I have to motivate work force but at the same give us the best environment they could find in a firm. ...
