Online vs Traditional Classes There are many different pros and cons to taking online classes versus traditional in class classes. A counselor or teacher is someone that could help a student determine which type of classes best fits the student. Before deciding on such a big decision, a student must first take into consideration how disciplined they are as a student to get their work done. Discipline as a student is a number one factor when it comes to deciding on a online or a traditional class room class. Being an online student takes a lot of discipline because you do not have someone standing there telling you exactly how to do your work. You also do not have someone there who can help you right away with questions you may have on your assignment. An online student needs to be organized and able to complete tasks on a certain deadline without being reminded daily. Being a traditional class student could be a better route for someone who does not have much discipline outside of the classroom. While being in class, you have to get your work done in a certain time and you have that time to do it in class. You teacher and peers are in class with you if you ever get in a stump on an assignment and need to ask questions. Flexibility is another factor that needs to come into play when a student decides on which type of class to take. If a student has a busy work schedule, kids at home, and needs to get school work done at different times during the day, online classes will work better for them. Flexibility with transportation is a key as well. If a student does not meet the transportation needs to get to class on time and each week, the student should consider online classes. If a student has a lot of open availability and willing to…...

Students can complete their classwork at any time of day to fit any schedule. An online education may be best for you if you are a single parent, have a busy schedule, or you want to learn at your own pace. Some online learners may find online classes boring and have difficulty concentrating on the material that needs to be remembered. For these students a traditional education may be a better match. It is offering more flexibility for students and providing individuals with better opportunities for postsecondary education. Traditional education has never been very flexible. There are scheduled times for class and working around that schedule can prove to be difficult. Often times, life events can conflict with the class schedule. This can cause students to miss class and fall behind in their work. While traditional education is not very flexible, online education is. Online education is the use of technology to share......

Online vs. Traditional Schooling

...Online Vs. Traditional Schooling Sarah Ann Weinkertz COM/170 7/17/2014 Korijna Valenti There is a long standing debate whether online or traditional schooling is more effective. What people do not realize is that online and traditional schooling are actually quite similar once you look at the material, curriculum, and the instructors teaching the classes. The instructors for online and traditional classes teach the same curriculum, using different techniques to give the students the information that they need. Online and traditional classes do of course have their differences such as the environment the students are working in, the time they get to do everything they need to, the communication between the students with the teachers, and financial obligations. Online schools follow the same curriculum as traditional schools do, providing the students just as respectable an education as a traditional school's education. Communication between students and instructors tends to differ between online schooling and tradition schooling. When someone is attending school online they have to realize that the communication will be limited; the professor may not be online or available when the student is actually needing the help. This is similar to traditional school, varying in that connecting with an instructor is through online contact in comparison to the possibility of an in-person meeting that is typically available......

No doubt majority of students go to college directly after, but some end up waiting to go later on. Fortunately, there are other options available today for those who had to wait to go. Online schooling, the ability to get a higher education online, without the traditional classroom setting. Now the burning question, just how much better is online learning anyway? There are many factors in determining whether the online route or the traditional way is better. Things like the cost of education, the academic performance of students, or the environment you wish to learn. Let’s dig a bit deeper to find out just what the facts will prove! The thing today that most people think about before making their decision about which way to go, is the environment that would best suite their current life situations. For instance, “students who freely choose online classes may have different characteristics, like they may be older, or have children, or are employed full time” (Dr. Stack 2015 Learning outcomes in an online vs traditional course pa.9). It is this flexibility that makes it possible for people with these characteristics to get a higher education. Just think about it, if......

Online vs Traditional Classes

...Stephanie Simmons Stacey Bybee English 111 20 November 2011 Online vs. Traditional Classes I like going to school to further my education, the only problem is the inconvenience. With three kids, a job, and life going to school to sit in seat can be difficult. If you had to choose between online and traditional in seat classes, that decision should be based on what’s better for you. The option for me is taking an online class. By taking online classes, you can learn the same material, but in a different way. Trying to find time to make more money, spend time with the family, and take classes to better my life eliminates the need to sit in class to learn. I have been able to experience online and traditional classes. I believe these two learning systems compare with class variety, learning skills and class diversity. When taking a class in seat or online, your teacher are providing goals within the class that need to be accomplished within a time period. Books are a necessity in order to learn and develop skills. The students learn in seat when the teacher lectures on a subject and the student is tested on their knowledge. The students learn the same online when the teacher assigns readings on the subject and is tested as well. For the ease of working adults most schools offers the same class online and in seat. They both have diversity within the classrooms. The students are able to interact with classmates with a different background and aspects of life. Most......
