The explosion was caused when an under burdened explosive detonation ignited coal dust. The explosion of this mine should not have been a surprise to anyone. There were also union complaints and letters to state officials. Various officials of mine safety agencies and the mine company were notified on more than one occasion. ...one has it's own procedures, methods and purposes. Financial Accounting is the area within accounting concerned with summarising and recording events and transactions, and from these records producing accounting statements, like the Statement of Comprehensive Income and Statement of Financial Position (previously known as profit and loss account and balance sheet). The constraints of company law often dictate the style, layout and content of these statements and, therefore, the methods of recording data need to bear in mind the end product of a set of accounts that are acceptable to the intended users. In simple terms, the phrase "stewardship accounting" can be used to describe this form of accounting, particularly for limited companies or public limited companies. The directors of the company need to account for the use they have made of the investors' money. Shareholders need to know how their money has been deployed and the results of this deployment. Financial Accounting is required in all businesses not just those owned by shareholders. All owners need financial information as do the tax authorities and potential investors. These are users of accounting information. An additional discipline is taxation and this is a specific subject for study in most accounting courses. Many lay people assume that if you are in accounting, you must understand taxation and work to minimise tax liability. This may be true in some cases, but taxation accounting is a very specific part of......

The last true green space in the county has caught the eyes and pockets of developers based on the demographics. The area is filled with potential to make large amounts of money. The recommendation from the County Economic Development office approved a principle in plan to swap out the course, in which both sides can make a decent profit from, and move it to more attractive facilities. In place of the old course would go a new mall with shopping stores, restaurants, and movie theaters. Several proposals have been sent to the County’s Executive Office of which have floated, sunk, and refloated. The public disclosures of some of the outlines of the ideas have created a more problems within the politics. These plans were supposed to be kept confidential to the special committee, but the circulation has cause citizen groups to begin to positions against more development in the area. ...bench was in negative for the question of law. However Justice H.R. Khanna dissented from the majority opinion and observed that- “Even in absence of Article 21 in the Constitution, the state has got no power to deprive a person of his life and liberty without the authority of law. Without such sanctity of life and liberty, the distinction between a lawless society and one governed by laws would cease to have any meaning…” and “Rule of Law is the antithesis of arbitrariness. Rule of Law is now the accepted norm of all civilized societies. Everywhere it is identified with the liberty of the individual. It seeks to maintain a balance between the opposing notions of individual liberty and public order. In every state the problem arises reconciling human rights with the requirement of public interest. Such harmonizing can only be attained by the existence of independent Courts which can hold the balance between citizen and the state and compel governments to conform to the law”. However, this was only the dissenting judgment. The majority judgment was one of the most criticized decisions given by the Supreme Court. It constituted one of the darkest hours of Indian judiciary which struck at the very heart of fundamental rights. The central contention of the majority was that since the right to move any Court had been suspended, the detenue had no locus standi and their writ petitions would necessarily have to be dismissed. Conclusion The modern conception of the......

FACTS, ISSUES, & RULING OF CASE Raytheon Company was founded in Cambridge, Mass., as the American Appliance Company in 1922, a pivotal time in American history. This company predominately manufactured equipment for the U.S. military along with defense technology and training, homeland and border security, and cyber security. The plaintiff, identified as Lawrence J. Korb, was employed by Raytheon as a vice president of operations. Korb made the decision to join a non-profit organization which was named the Committee for National Security. While on his lunch break a press conference was held by the CNC with the main focus being on the annual alternative defense budget. As a result of this press conference, an article was released in the newspaper detailing Korb’s criticisms and discontentment with the defense spending. He also went on to speak about a reduction in spending in regards to a naval fleet. As a result of this interview, Raytheon terminated Korb. In a last ditch effort, Raytheon offered him a different position, one that was obviously not as important as his prior. Viewing the proposed alternative assignment to be a demotion designed to prevent him from speaking out on important matters of national public concern, and preferring termination to Philadelphia, Mr. Korb declined......

...2012 Public Personnel Today Growth in the field of public administration over the last one hundred plus years has resulted in amplified attention on the expectations and overall responsibility of public personnel as the profession has grown over time in society both in increased responsibility and overall increases of the expected impact of a bureaucratic system on its citizens and their quality of life. As a primary employer, the government at its various levels is tasked with the challenge of not only providing safe and effective workplaces but also with the ability to remain somewhat competitive with their private sector counterparts. Attracting and retaining qualified and professional public administration personnel is a key factor and initiative addressed when ensuring public funds are appropriately managed and utilized effectively and efficiently for the greater good. While it is the government’s functional responsibility to provide the necessary services required, they must do so while maintaining a highly regarded and expected standard of living. In its early years, the majority of public officials were assigned their roles based on their socio-economic status and personal relationships, a system that became known as the spoils system. As the economy grew and industrialization changed the perspectives of many, the spoils system became synonymous with an inefficient and ineffective way of assigning personnel to run public organizations and allocate public......
