...D’Aesha Rahming English Language Synthesis Essay (AP Paper) Read the following sources (including the introductory information) carefully. Then write an essay that develops a position on whether or not there should be specific texts that all students of high school English must read. Synthesize at least three of the sources for support. Countries are like bags of assorted candy. They are packaged with persons that possess an array of personalities, skin colors, religions, cultures and ethnicities. Simply put diversity is common worldwide; even more so in schools. A school is a miniature country. It has its own food services, events, community, leaders, and laws. However, the proximity of one individual to another is increased. Therefore, persons in most cases are immediately exposed to the differences around them. With that being said, some people believe that because of this kind of exposure, it is of high importance that schools find a way to encourage students to embrace the various differences instead of disowning or degrading them. One way America attempts to do this is with the variation of books that pupils read in schools. Despite this, in some nations, it is standard practice that specific texts are read in all schools. However, I disagree with this. By placing such restrictions on the reading materials of students, I feel that these students would be negatively affected. This is because the idea is becoming obsolete in this digital age. Also, because persons......

...Theodore Burnett ENG-111 Synthesis Final Draft November 3, 2013 Different Point of Views on Abortion There are many different views about how an abortion affects a person. The first article that I came across is titled “Religious Perspectives On Abortion and A Secular Response.” This article was written by Rachek Ankeny, Moira Stephens, Christopher Jordens, and Ian Kerridge. These authors believe that having an abortion can cause medical, religious, and social discourse. This article talks about the point of views from seven of the major religious groups around the world. (Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist, Confucian, and Hindu.) These authors have interviewed a medical doctor that represents one of the seven major religious so that they could get information on how different religious are affected by termination of a pregnancy. They first interviewed a Catholic doctor by the name of Helen Watt. Dr. Helen Watts explained that the Catholic Church has a long history of comforting women who have been harmed morally and emotionally by an abortion, and helping them deal with what has happened and make their peace with God. The emotional damage can be extensive and many women feel like they need assistance from post-abortion counseling and self-help organizations with the same feeling that they have experienced. Historically, the Catholic church has always been opposing the termination of pregnancies. The Catholic church believes that humans......

...Module 5: Final Synthesis “Fieldwork” Paper Upon reading Arloski’s text and reviewing his tools for exploration, I have designed a Life’s Basic tool for exploring wellness that has a personal meaning to close family as well as friends and myself. Arloski’s tools for exploration number six, “The Welcome Packet”, inspired me. I wanted to create a tool that was not only powerful, thought-provoking, and intriguing, but a tool that held meaning to an individual that allowed them to find purpose and what one would need to do in order to feel accomplished in life. In the process of completing this tool, I began with my boyfriend’s life experience. Since he has been incarcerated and recently released from prison, I thought he would be a good candidate to help get some ideas with the design of my tool. During our initial conversation, I asked him what concepts he thought was essential to life’s basics. He described three things. The first concept was to understand how to dream and uncover what one really wants. The second was to understand how to get rid of self-sabotaging mental chatter and negative beliefs. Last, but not least, knowing how to make and keep commitments to oneself around ones body, career, money, and relationships. I found these concepts to be very intriguing and was really surprised at the response I received. While in prison, he explained that he had a lot of time to dream about what he really wanted out of life and what things he needed to do once he got......

...Synthesis Paper: Psyc 255 Research Methods Learned and Critiqued from A Biblical Perspective Denise Beck Liberty University Synthesis Paper: Psyc 255 Research Methods Learned and Critiqued from A Biblical Perspective The goals of this course according to our syllabus were to introduce us to the techniques of psychological research, to improve our understanding of how research is done and the methods used to do it, and to give us the ability to communicate competently about the ideas behind the research process. This paper will use myself as a case study to examine what I have learned about research as it applies to the aforementioned goals. An examination of those techniques and the idea of research itself will then be laid against the Bible’s guiding principles. What Have I Learned About Research at an Introductory Level? Why Use Research and the Scientific Method? In the field of mental health, professionals must be constantly looking for ways to help their patients (Cozby & Bates, 2012). Research is a way to explore what has been tried before. I have learned that understanding how to interpret the research can help you decide the legitimacy of the research and how to apply it to your situation. There are several ways to gather information to use to make decisions. This course has made me aware of the value of using the scientific method. While other methods rely on a feeling or personal judgment, the scientific method holds information to a higher......

...Michele Linton February 25, 2015 Dr. Lawrence Ness RES-811 Synthesis Paper My challenge was to synthesize three separate articles. Discover the commonalities, and distinguish the differences. Synthesis requires one to combine two or more separate entities in order to form one. The journal articles had more in common than I thought at first glance. The first article was about fearless dominance. I didn’t have a lot of experience and/or knowledge about this topic, but after reading I was surprised at how interesting and powerful it was. The second article was about transactional and transformational leadership. These forms of leadership are opposite types of leadership that collective make up an amazing leader. The final article is about leadership identity and the importance of self-awareness in leadership. In my paper, I will give a brief overview of the three articles and discuss the similarities. Fearless dominance and the U.S. presidency: Implications of psychopathic personality traits for successful and unsuccessful political leadership. It has been said that fearless dominance has an association with strong rated presidential performance, leadership, persuasiveness, crisis management, congressional relations and allied variables. Fearless dominance appears as a characteristic frequently among presidents and has a correlation to job performance ratings. Also,......

This paper will have the in-depth research-based on the commonality of all the articles which is inclusive of personality and behavior traits as well as embracing the management philosophy portraying a functional method to detect prospective leaders. It is not an ironclad method which envisages who will direct or by what method will he or she direct. These articles give a concept into the methods to effect or utilize a particular description of successful management. However the conception of an effective leader is biased, which makes it challenging to visibly describe what characteristics and qualities cause somebody to be an effective administrator or leader. There is also not any unanimity concluded as to which traits are largely significant for those in chief positions such as leaders and administrators to have. Although some view character traits like self-confidence and inspiration, others contemplate natural traits like individuals size to be more important. This paper is a synthesis analysis of three research articles that explored leadership styles, individual’s temperaments, perception of...

Marshall Evergreen State College Story of the Human Body Synthesis Paper The chapters in the book start with the evolution of the human body from the lands of Africa to the present day. The findings of bones that date back millions of years displays the evidence of such evolution. ...Module #1 - Synthesis Paper Like most workers, there are times, while working as part of a team, when I think, “I could get this done faster by myself.” My thought may be accurate, but would completing the project as a team be more beneficial for the company in the long run? Let’s look at some pros and cons of working as a team, using an imaginary project as an example. Project: Mass communication to geographically diverse work force regarding upcoming changes to health benefits • Teamwork Con: Speed o Working in a team requires multiple schedules to be coordinated. If Mary’s part of the project cannot be done until Bob has completed his part of the project, Mary becomes dependent on Bob’s schedule. Bob may experience an illness or be assigned a task that requires immediate completion. Mary could have completed the entire project faster had she been working by herself. o The deadline for this project cannot be altered, as the implementation date for the changes to benefits is set in stone. • Teamwork Pro: Multiple perspectives o Having varied perspectives on the strategy used to announce the benefit changes may be the difference between retaining and losing valuable workers. o A team approach to this project can include perspectives from various geographic regions, which may have varied cultural influences and communication styles. What may seem like an innocuous change in Region A may be much more significant in Region B. While the change may still......
