Truth About Psychology
There are many scriptures that talk about physical and spiritual healing, but there are none that prescribe the infirm to set out on a self-focused journey of behavior modification, which comes with self-help and psychology based solutions. You have been healed not with rules, steps, behavior modifications, accountability, and fear, but with peace and the power that comes from being fully hidden in Christ and completely filled with the Holy Spirit. You were reborn as a new creation; a race of people never before seen on this Earth.
Over and over again, throughout the New Testament, you are given permission to be healed. Jesus died and with Him, your sinful nature died. You are no longer broken, weak or struggling, you have been fully restored and healed. Jesus came to Earth and was the beginning of a new creation. A new being. A race of people that would live for eternity, equipped with the same power, ability and inheritance as Jesus. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

Verse after verse Jesus explains our new placement in the Kingdom and our new status. (John 10:25-30)
Jesus promises us the Holy Spirit to equip us for the same power and good works that he had access to and experienced here on Earth. Once you were placed in Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus says in John 14:15-27 that you will keep his commands, you know him, anyone who loves Christ will obey and you are commanded not to be troubled or afraid. We have been made one with God. How, if we are one with God, are we weak and powerless to anything?
The foundation of psychology and self-help is rooted not in scripture or the Holy Spirit but in self and your “psyche.” There cannot be a more terrible place to look for healing and solutions.

Truth About Credit Cards

...2/21/13 The bitter sweet truth about credit card reward schemes | February 21 2013 | Last updated 2 minutes ago Business | Your Money The bitter sweet truth about credit card reward schemes If you are the type of person who can pay off your credit card in full each month, exploit the advantages. If you are not, stay well away as nothing compares to the pain of unpaid debt By Cleofe Maceda, Senior Reporter Published: 00:00 January 21, 2012 loading Close [x] 1/11 2/21/13 The bitter sweet truth about credit card reward schemes | Image Credit: Supplied Perhaps the biggest allure of credit cards is the ability to spend without having to carry cash. But for some people, part of the appeal is the belief that frequent card use can bring a host of incredible rewards. In rewards schemes, the cardholder earns a fraction of the amount spent in the form of cash, vouchers and gifts. Free tickets to a dream destination, weekend stays at a luxury resort, dining and retail discounts are just a few of the freebies up for grabs. Because the offers often look too tempting to resist, cardholders are increasingly pursuing air miles and points to supplement their expenses. Consequently, as consumers swipe more, spending and debt levels also rise. A Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago paper published in December 2010 tackled the......

Truth About Hybrids

...The Truth about Hybrids Hybrids vehicles (Part Electric, Part Gas) have stirred controversy in the past few years. Some people feel that Hybrid vehicles are the answer to the energy crises, while others believe Hybrids are just a fad and do not really help the environment at all. According to Bob Elton, a 30-year automotive engineer, (2008), “even though Hybrids are making a splash, both in the sales charts and the media do they really deserve all the love and attention?” (Elton B, 2008) The question remains, what are the true advantages of the Hybrid, and how much is only hype. Is the advantage worth the cost? Do the disadvantages show the real expense of the Hybrid and contradict the EPA claims? After both sides are reviewed, a conclusion can be realized about the truth about hybrids. Contrary to popular belief, there are more disadvantages than advantages owning a Hybrid. Although most people believe that Hybrids are superior over their non-hybrid counter parts, the truth is; hybrids are not environmentally friendly; they have critical safety issues; and are not cost effective. There is no question that Hybrids are more fuel-efficient than their counter part gas powered vehicles. The author argues the “fuel efficient difference of Hybrids are nowhere near as great as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) numbers suggest.” (Elton B 2008) Most people are under the assumption that Hybrids are environmentally friendly, but in actuality, the pollution created in......

The Truth About Pitbulls

...The Truth about Pitbulls Ryan K. Smith University of Phoenix The Pit Bull breed of dog has a very bad reputation. This is because Pit Bulls are used as fighting dogs for some people’s amusement. Little do people know Pit Bulls are very good family dogs, and often called “The Nanny Dog”. I personally own three Pit Bulls, and have interviewed someone who does not own a pit bull. I have found a lot of information about this breed of dogs and everything points to one question. Although some individuals perceive pit bull dogs to have a bad reputation, many have found these animals to be wonderful house pets when treated with kindness and love. The stereotype of a pit bull is not good at all, but why does this stop people from owning them? I asked a non pitbull owner why she will not own a pitbull. “I personally got bit by a pit bull, so I have seen what they are capable of and this scares me. These dogs have a very powerful jaw and it makes being bit worse. I’m just personally scared of this breed of dog. Being scared of this breed of dog because of being bit by one, makes me weary of going to other people’s homes that own this breed because I’m scared of being bit again.” (Cassie Bailey’s personal interview). I also interviewed a pitbull owner as well. “By owning the pit bull breed for most of my life I have never had a problem out of any of the dogs I have had. The pit bull breed has a bad name, but my dogs have never bit or attacked anyone. My dogs are......

The Truth About Happiness

...The Truth about Happiness As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery. We have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger and attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion, a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness. (Dalai Lama) When we are first arrive in this world, our mind is pure form the concept of happiness. But as we grow, our thinking got infected with the outside world. We learned what the society has considered to be the sources of happiness. We believe it completely and make a lifelong mission to achieve those things. The society has falsely taught us that the exterior things, beauty, money and fame, would make us happy, and we keep chasing and chasing, and still got empty handed. It is in fact that what we have thought will bring us happiness are actually the source of our suffering. The image of physical beauty is everywhere nowadays from signs on the street to TV at home. Many people, majorly females, especially young girls, got the wrong idea that people with good look are better in life. Even Daniel Gilbert has agreed that “a lot of the advice we receive from others is bad advice that we foolishly accepted” (171), in “Reporting Live from Tomorrow,” a chapter form Stumbling on Happiness. Thus, they automatically assumed that beauty is a path to happiness. In fact, that is the widespread......

Truth About Sweeteners

...Leah Arvay ENG 1020 052 November 11, 2013 The Truth about Sweeteners When you go to the store do you ever notice that all of these sweet foods and drinks are claiming to have no sugar and zero calories? And if all these foods and drinks are claiming to have no sugar in them, then why are our obesity numbers in this country continuing to rise? The American Heart Association says in their 2013 Statistical Fact Sheet that 23.9 million children ranging the ages of 2 to 19 are either overweight or obese, 154.7 million adults (ages 20+) are overweight or obese. (American Heart Association) Everybody knows that if you eat too much sugar or too many processed foods and don’t get enough exercise the result is weight gain. But in a society that is next to obsessed with weight loss and trying to find the quickest way to get rid of the weight and to keep it off without truly changing the look or taste of the food we have had to become creative with what we are now including in food. For a food to be sweet but not contain any sugar or calories, it needs to contain a type of sweetener, typically an artificial sweetener or a sugar substitute. There are many sugar substitutes on the market right now, and even though they help lower the amount of calories and eliminate the sugar, those sweeteners will actually have a negative effect on your body and your children’s body so much so that you’re better off consuming the calories and sugar by using either the real thing or a natural sweetener. ...

The Truth About Santa Claus

...The Truth about Santa Claus Around the western hemisphere, for years, children have been beguiled and deceived by their parents into believing in this fat guy with a big fluffy bearded that drops off presents on Christmas Eve, by way off magical flying reindeers. Sound impossible and highly unlikely to the average adult, but to children, this is Christmas. I used to believe that Santa Claus existed and that he would come to your home around Christmas time and drop of gifts to the nice and coal to the naughty, but because of my life experiences and the older I have gotten over the years, I now know that Santa Claus in fact does not exist and was just a fictional character for kids. Growing up, we heard that Santa is, “Making his list and checking it twice”, so we were to be on our best behavior the whole year if we wanted to get a gift for Christmas, and not a lump of coal. We would set up a tree, decorate it as well, also set up the stockings on the chimney. One thing that you couldn't forget was to leave Santa Claus was milk and cookies, because everyone knows that Santa Claus loves milk and cookies. On the night of Christmas Eve, Santa will mosey on down the chimney, eat the milk and cookies, and deliver the presents. But on one faithful Christmas Eve, I experienced something that would change my life forever! Like any other Christmas week, the family and I were getting prepared for the festivities. The tree and stockings were already set up, lights on the tree were......

Truths About Human Languages

...Truths About Human Languages Some fundamental truths about the human languages use are important to remember when we sit down to create a composition. First, we must realize that communication is the first thing we do when we are born, animals communicate but we just communicate a lot more efficiently and more specifically, all of us in the end just using it to get what we want. Secondly, we must be mindful of some of the differences between speaking and writing. Writing is permanent once it's in a book or on an essay and you submit it it's there and not going anywhere, which could be a pro and a con, depends on how intelligent and smart you are about what you say, a lot of people even just write a comment on something and after they submit it even a year from now they can't delete it, so think about what you type and write before submitting it, also written language is usually more complex and is thought out such as essays and official letters and resumes. Writing can also be unofficial such as text messages or some emails. We only use one that doesnt involve speaking and thats composition. Composition is basically what literature itself and grammar fall back to every time, and you need all three every time you write or say something. You’ve learned to make sounds and further on made words and then you learn to make sentences with structure you learn them more and more everyday which so grammar, literature, and composition get better and deeper in your head which helps......

Stephen Porter* and Leanne ten Brinke University of British Columbia Okanagan, Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada In this paper, we provide our view of the current understanding of high-stakes lies often occurring in forensic contexts. We underscore the importance of avoiding widespread pitfalls of deception detection and challenging prevailing assumptions concerning strategies for catching liars. The promise and limitations of each of non-verbal/body language, facial, verbal/linguistic, and physiological channels in detecting deception are discussed. In observing the absence of a single cue or behavioural channel that consistently reveals deception, a holistic approach with concurrent attention to multiple channels of a target’s behaviour (ideally videotaped for review) and changes from baseline behaviour is recommended whenever possible. Among the best-validated cues to be considered together include: illustrators, blink and pause rate, speech rate, vague descriptions, repeated details, contextual embedding, reproduction of conversations, and emotional ‘leakage’ in the face.......

The Truth About Male Friendship

...The truth about male friendship ‘’For men to really become friends there has to be an element of adventure.’’ Michael Chabon says this in his Pulitzer prize-winning The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, and it is the basic line in male friendship. The thing that happens with men when they are in each other’s company is the very idea of adventure. It doesn’t have to a big adventure, as long as the two of you makes it big. Safraz Manzoor has taken it upon his shoulders, to describe this phenomenon in the text, ‘‘The truth about male friendship’’. In the text we are introduced to the man Safraz Manzoor, the writer of the text, and his all-time best friend Amolak, who is a banker. He tells us about how he and Amolak shares different passions, among them music, which is known as a great way to bond, not just with your friends, but with anybody. Safraz and Amolak have been friends since they were 16, so 25 years of friendship by the time that Safraz wrote the text. This doesn’t mean 25 years of a happy friendship with cake and flowers, which isn’t the case in many long-running male friendships. My father has this friend called Søren. They shared the most of their teenage years with each other, and were inseparable until the age of 23. What happened here was Søren’s girlfriend, drunk as she was, asking my father for a kiss, and, drunk as he was, he said yes. Søren quickly knocked out my father, still has a scar under his beard, and they didn’t talk to each other......

The Truth About Lying

...“The Truth about Lying” In the reading of “The Truth about Lying”, Viorst explains that many people disagree about the worst kind of lies. He uses the examples of social lies, peace keeping lies, protective lies, and trust keeping lies to further his explanation of why he thinks these are the worst. Social lies are the type of statements made to agree with someone or to protect the truth to make something seem wonderful when it is not. Such as a dinner cooked by a friend, and the individual states that the meal ended up better than expected and was great. When in reality the individual thought the meal was nasty and unappealing, and used this lie in order to keep the friend happy. Another main topic of Viort’s writing is peace keeping lies, these types avoid argument or irritation. An example of this would be, arriving late to a dinner with a friend and telling them that your car wouldn’t start. When in reality you overslept and used the excuse to avoid confrontation and tension. The third idea Viorst chooses is the protective lies. This is a lie used to protect someone from something that is thought to be damaging. A situation similar to this is if your best friend was getting married, and you didn’t think they were right for each other and instead of telling him what you really thought, you tell him that they are right for each other so that the truthful thoughts wouldn’t damage your closest friend over a small opinion. Viorst’s......

Real Truth About Kony

...has been stapled as the most successful viral video campaign of all time with some 137.2 million views. But some obvious questions will arise when investigating about Invisible Children’s financials. Within their financial statements there are The LRA has not committed crimes within Uganda since 2006 and Konys’ recent freedom is more due to the complexity of Ugandan politics than lack of resources, people or support from the West. Furthermore, the troops that President Obama shipped in 2009 are practically useless because they are not permitted to pass into non-Ugandan territory, where Joseph Kony is. The KONY 2012 video depicts Ugandans as passive victims when in fact there has been an overwhelming collective response against Konys’ rebel group that has been wielded by their president Yoweri Museveni. Invisible Children portrayed a simple solution, give enough money to our organization, make “Kony” famous and we can stop the crime and injustices in Uganda and Central Africa; but it is not that simple. How Ugandans feel about Invisible Children One might think that Invisible Children Inc. and Ugandans are working side by side in raising awareness about Joseph Kony and the LRA. If someone had questioned a viewer the relationship they had one would probably say it was that of friends but this is not necessarily the truth. After the KONY 2012 video came out there was a group screening within Uganda. It was translated into their native dialect and an estimated 35,000 people......
